About

Hello! We are glad you are here. When you’re part of our school, you’re part of the Allegro family. Our goals are to serve you – and with you, to serve the community. Come on in for a conversation, to register for a trial lesson, or ask about our scheduled performances. We look forward to meeting you real soon.

Who are we? We are a non-profit art school squarely focused on giving back to our community and bringing the arts to life within Fauquier, Prince William, Culpeper and Rappahannock counties. We truly have a heart for connecting others to the arts; this is our passion. We want to increase art appreciation and participation within our community, and within our families! Through education, performance, and community partnerships, we develop the “whole artist.”

Many years ago, Allegro was born out of a desire to teach music to children. We recognized that we had the experience (college music degrees and years of teaching), the resources (four passionate musicians) and a heart-felt dedication to the arts (music is what we live for!). Our building has moved three times (now in the heart of downtown Warrenton), and our Board and staff have quadrupled in size.

We have brought in theatre professionals and visual arts expertise to expand our offerings to include music, theatre and visual arts. We run classes daily and host performances year-round. We now offer classes to teens, adults, and the aging – art is for everyone!

We have grown and partnered and improved into a solid, reputable local non-profit (we were recognized by the Fauquier Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Warrenton Chamber as a nominee for Not-For-Profit of the year 2015!). Our heart and passion for the arts within our community remains unchanged. We continue to leverage the arts to change lives for the better.

Allegro tailors lessons to individual student strengths – quite the opposite of a common one-size-fits-all approach. This open concept is ideal for any artist, but especially those with special needs, learning disabilities or unique ways of communicating and expressing. We have specialized programs with Music Therapy and the Allegro Music Academy for the Blind.

Today, Allegro is the training ground for some of the Piedmont’s most talented artists. Here at Allegro, actors, singers, instrumentalists, and visual artists are taught to reach their artistic capacity, and how to further evolve as an artist beyond the walls of our music school.
