Lachelle Yoder – Program Director
Lachelle attended Evangel University where she majored in Communication with a minor in Music & English. While at Evangel, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the college newspaper. She assisted the music department as an accompanist day to day, and traveled with one of the school’s vocal ensembles as their accompanist.
In 2004, she helped to co-found BPK Music, later to become Allegro Community School of the Arts, with her husband Sam and Cyndi & Marc Romero. At that time she became a certified Kindermusik Specialist teaching early childhood music.
“I never wanted to be a teacher which is why I didn’t become a music major. I started teaching privately at the encouragement of a friend. Once I began teaching, I discovered the love of watching my students grasp the concepts, then owning their music. I began taking piano lessons at age 4 and began accompanying school choirs when I was in the 6th grade. That’s when I began to love music. That’s what we want to happen here at Allegro – giving our students opportunities to perform and share their talents with the community. These are the activities that turn students into musicians and patrons of the arts.”
Lachelle currently serves the school as the Program Director. She represents Allegro through networking, committees, and coordinates student performances. Currently she is co-chairman of the Warrenton Spring Festival; serves on the Experience Old Town Warrenton as the promotions event director; and serves as the President of the Fauquier Arts Council.
